Ben brings a whole new suite of skills to Fresh By Design!  With Ben on board, we now offer a complete one-stop-shop service from initial project concept right through to licensing, construction and operation.

The services Ben specialises in include aquaculture business planning, aquaculture licensing, government liaison, project management, environmental investigations and impact assessments, environmental plans/programs, acid sulphate assessments, site suitability assessments, due diligence, HACCP plans for seafood processing (domestic and export), operations manuals, auditing, workplace training, and indigenous aquaculture.

After completing a bachelor’s degree in Fisheries and Aquaculture, Ben worked as an environmental and licensing consultant for the mining industry.  Using these skills, Ben then founded an aquaculture focused consulting firm assisting clients in the licensing, design, development, and management of large-scale open pond aquaculture facilities.  Ben has undertaken work for over 60 large scale aquaculture farms both nationally and internationally and has personally managed multiple large scale aquaculture facilities (pond based and RAS), seafood processing facilities, hatcheries, and research facilities.  Ben also has 13 years’ experience in the water industry and has won industry awards for research utilising fish as a remediation tool in the treatment of domestic sewage.
