Acrylic fish tanks
Our acrylic fish tanks come in three standard sizes, kept as our regular stock range, and we still build fully custom tanks to order. Each one is made from cast acrylic — or polycarbonate (PC) where extra strength is needed — with the port positions and fittings your setup requires. Acrylic weighs about half what glass does for the same volume, takes impact far better, and stays clearer with less distortion. That makes it the usual choice for display tanks, research systems and public aquaria.

Is acrylic better than glass for a fish tank?
For most aquaculture and display work, acrylic comes out ahead. It’s lighter, which makes installation and handling easier. Unlike glass, it won’t shatter under impact — a real safety advantage around large volumes of water. Scratches can be buffed out rather than living with them for good, and you get clearer viewing with less distortion, most noticeable on the bigger tanks.
Can the tank be drilled for filtration and equipment?
Yes. We pre-drill the tank wherever you need it — for heaters, overflows, filtration and other gear — and can build in specialised filtration and lighting to suit what you’re keeping.
