Polypropylene Bag Housing

These polypropylene bag housings are a corrosion-proof, cost-effective choice for aquaculture, aquarium and zoo life support system (LSS) water treatment. Built entirely from polypropylene, they handle seawater, brackish water and the chemicals used in marine and hatchery systems without the corrosion or metal leaching of stainless steel. We supply two models so you can match the housing to your flow and duty.

Key features
  • Fully polypropylene across both models — corrosion-proof for seawater, brackish water and aquaculture, aquarium and zoo LSS chemicals, with no rusting or tainting of culture water
  • Two models to suit your flow and duty — HPP-100B (Size 5 bag, ~300 LPM, 13 L) and HPPB-732 (Size 2 bag, ~500 LPM, 36 L)
  • HPPB-732 adds a fibreglass-reinforced, UV-stabilised body and a patented bypass-free SDS pressure seal ring for higher flows and outdoor or RO-pre-treatment duty
  • 2″ BSP inlet/outlet on both; HPPB-732 also offers an ANSI flange attachment and offline/dual option
  • 600 kPa operating pressure and 42 °C maximum on both; Buna-N seals standard (Viton optional)
  • Australian-made; compatible polypropylene, polyester, nylon, oil-removal and carbon bags made on site
Which model is right for you?

Both housings are fully polypropylene and rated to 600 kPa — the choice comes down to flow and installation. Choose the HPP-100B for compact installs and flows up to 300 LPM using a Size 5 bag. Choose the HPPB-732 where you need higher flow (up to 500 LPM), greater dirt-holding capacity, outdoor durability or reverse-osmosis pre-treatment — its fibreglass-reinforced, UV-stabilised body and larger Size 2 bag suit heavier, continuous duty.

Applications

Marine and brackish recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS), hatcheries and live-holding systems, public aquarium and zoo life support systems (LSS), incoming-seawater pre-filtration, desalination and RO pre-treatment, and protecting pumps, UV units and heat exchangers from solids. What filter bags do they take?

The HPP-100B takes a single Size 5 bag (0.2 m² surface area); the HPPB-732 takes a single Size 2 bag (0.4 m²).

Frequently asked questions

What flow rate do they handle? The HPP-100B is rated to 300 LPM and the HPPB-732 to 500 LPM (maximum clean-water flow).

Are they suitable for salt water? Yes — both are all-polypropylene and built for seawater and brackish aquaculture, aquarium and zoo LSS water where stainless steel corrodes.

What is the maximum pressure and temperature? Both run to 600 kPa operating pressure and 42 °C maximum.

What filter bags do they use? A Size 5 bag (HPP-100B) or a Size 2 bag (HPPB-732).
