4mm Silicone Air Line

Q: How do I choose the right size?

This line is made in one bore only — 4 mm ID — so check the barb on your air pump, air tap or diffuser is 4 mm before ordering; the outside diameter is not published, so ask us if clearance is tight.

Q: Is it sold per metre or per roll?

Per roll only — 100 m or 200 m. It is not cut to the metre.

Q: Is it suitable for ozone or pure oxygen?

No. Ozone attacks silicone and no oxygen service rating is published — use Tygon Ozone Tubing for ozone and Mako Red Multipurpose Oxygen Hose for oxygen.

Q: Is it food-grade or potable rated?

No food-grade or potable rating is published. The copy states only that the silicone is non-toxic and safe for aquatic life.

Q: Will it survive outdoors in the sun?

Silicone handles UV and weathering better than PVC airline, but no outdoor or temperature rating is published for this product, so shade long exposed runs.

Q: Why use silicone instead of ordinary PVC airline?

Silicone stays flexible for years in wet, warm conditions, where PVC airline hardens, cracks and starts to leak at the barbs.

Q: What working pressure will it take?

A working pressure is not published. It is intended for low-pressure aeration air only — contact us before any other duty.
