Q: How do I choose the right NBG size?

Size it on flow against head, never flow alone — give us your design flow in L/s or m³/h and the total head in metres, being static lift plus friction losses through pipe and fittings, and we match the frame size, impeller trim and motor kW to that point on the curve.

Q: Is the NBG self-priming?

No — it is non-self-priming, so it needs a flooded suction or a separate priming arrangement.

Q: What standards is it built and tested to?

Main dimensions follow ISO 2858, and each pump is tested to ISO 9906:2012 acceptance grade before it leaves the factory.

Q: Will it fit in a tight plant room?

Usually yes — the close-coupled design has no separate baseplate and coupling, so the footprint is considerably shorter than a long-coupled equivalent.

Q: What are the wetted parts made from?

The datasheet example is a cast iron housing and impeller with a stainless steel shaft, and the wear ring is deliberately a different material again. For seawater or chemical duty ask us about the Grundfos CRN in AISI 316 stainless instead.

Q: Can I run an NBG on a variable speed drive?

Yes — a Grundfos CUE external drive suits the NBG and lets you trim flow to demand rather than throttling a valve.
