Q: Why choose a tapered base over a flat base tank?

The sloped floor carries solids down to the central drain for total drainage, where a flat floor lets them settle and needs solids handled elsewhere.

Q: Which taper angle should I ask for?

Taper is fixed per model and runs from 45° on the small steep hatchery cones down to 1° on the largest tanks — tell us your species and stocking and we will match it.

Q: What size is the drain outlet?

There is no fixed outlet size across the range — PVC fittings and outlet sizes are made to your specification.

Q: Is the litre figure total volume or working volume?

It is the supplier storage capacity; working volume is not published, so allow your own freeboard when sizing.

Q: What stand comes with the tank?

PVC or FRP pipe legs up to 3,000 L, an FRP box integral leg structure up to 23,000 L, or a sand or metal dust filled FRP skirt on 100,000 L and larger.

Q: How do the very large tanks get delivered?

Large tanks are shipped in halves and assembled on site.

Tapered base fibreglass tanks designed to achieve total drainage — the sloped floor works solids and waste down to the central outlet instead of letting them settle
Taper is specified per model and ranges from a steep 45° cone on the small hatchery tanks to 1° on the largest tanks; the steeper the cone, the harder it clears solids and the taller the tank sits
Central drainage on every model, with outlet sizes and PVC fittings made to your specification
Smooth, food grade, gelcoated interior, hand laminated for extra quality control and strength, flowcoated exterior, coloured to your specification
Three stand designs: PVC/FRP pipe support legs up to 3,000 L, FRP box design integral leg structure up to 23,000 L, and an FRP skirt filled with sand or metal dust mainly used on 100,000 L and larger
Optional aluminium or fibreglass tank bases, lids quoted on request, and large tanks shipped in halves and assembled on site
Choose tapered over the Ajay flat base range when solids have to clear themselves, and over the Ajay rectangular range when floor space is not the limiting factor
Twenty seven sizes — T75 to T260000, 75 L to 260,000 L nominal storage capacity, 0.590 m to 11.000 m diameter and 0.750 m to 2.750 m high on its base support. The supplier publishes storage capacity only, not working volume, so allow your own freeboard. Other sizes available on request
