Q: What is the difference between a slip and a threaded fitting?

Slip is solvent welded to PVC pipe for a permanent joint; threaded accepts a male threaded fitting or adaptor and can be undone later.

Q: Is the thread BSP or NPT?

The supplier does not publish the thread standard — confirm it with us before ordering a threaded model so you get a thread that mates with your pipework.

Q: What size hole do I need to cut?

Minimum hole saw sizes are 27 mm for 15 mm fittings, 34 mm for 20 mm, 43 mm for 25 mm, 60 mm for 40 mm and 73 mm for 50 mm.

Q: Is a gasket included?

Yes — every Economy Bulkhead Fitting is supplied with its gasket.

Q: Can I fit one to a curved tank wall?

No — these need a flat surface to seal against. On a curved or ribbed tank use a Uniseal flexible tank seal instead.

Q: What is the fitting made from?

ABS plastic, with the gasket supplied. The supplier does not publish a UV or temperature rating, so ask us before specifying one for full sun or warm water.

Q: What pressure can it take?

The supplier does not publish a pressure rating, so treat these as tank and sump penetrations rather than pressurised line fittings — ask us if your line is pressurised.
