Divide your total gas flow in LPM by the optimal per-diffuser rate – up to 1.5 LPM for the ECD100, up to 3 LPM for the ECD200 or up to 6 LPM for the ECD400 – and round up.

The diffusers are rated for operating pressures up to 3.5 bar (50 psi), so the supply must overcome that plus the water depth above the diffuser.

It handles both – the inert ceramic and 316L stainless fittings suit oxygen and air, and the airlift design works either way.

This ceramic makes roughly 120 micron bubbles against 1 to 3 mm from a membrane disc, so transfer is far better, while membrane discs move much more air per unit at low pressure.

The anti-microbial ceramic resists biofilm, but calcium scale will still build up over time – soak in a dilute acid bath and rinse thoroughly before refitting.

The fittings are marine-grade 316L stainless steel set in a resin housing, which avoids the galvanic corrosion seen with aluminium and brass components.
