Product Information

Key Features

  • Nylon Nitex® mesh tow nets for concentrating phytoplankton from ponds, raceways, sea cages, lakes, rivers and open ocean
  • Stainless steel mouth ring with a three-point adjustable nylon bridle for a stable, square tow
  • Detachable cod end with lateral apertures so the concentrate drains off without losing the sample
  • Weight loops fitted, so the net can be ballasted to hold depth on vertical and horizontal tows
  • Cod end filters of 50 mm diameter in 20, 35, 53, 100 and 250 µm to match or refine the net mesh
  • Mouth ring diameters of 150, 250 and 300 mm, with net lengths of 0.45, 0.55 and 0.88 m
  • Sizing: pick the mesh aperture from the 20–250 µm range — the net retains everything coarser than the aperture, so specify a mesh finer than the smallest cell you need to keep, then match ring diameter to the volume you need to filter
