Hailea Aquarium Chiller

Q: How do I pick a model?

Match your total system water volume, including sump and pipework, to the rated volume for each model, then check your pump meets that model’s minimum flow.

Q: What cooling capacity in kW does each model give?

Hailea do not publish a kW capacity against a stated air and water temperature, so the rated tank volume and horsepower are the only sizing figures available.

Q: Does it come with a pump?

No — flow through the chiller comes from your own circulation pump, and each model has a minimum flow rate to meet.

Q: Is the temperature adjustable?

Yes — a digital temperature controller holds the temperature you select.

Q: Can I get other sizes?

Yes — other models in the Hailea HC range can be supplied on request.

Q: What if my water sits outdoors or I need a set pull-down time?

Ask us for a heat-load calculation. Tank volume alone will not tell you whether a model can hold temperature in those conditions.

Product Information

Key Features

Hailea HC series, four models from 1/4 HP to 2 HP, rated for tanks from 700 L up to 2,000 L
Environmentally friendly R134a refrigerant
Strong metal chassis with a contemporary, low-noise housing design
Digital temperature controller holds the selected temperature
Needs its own circulation pump — flow through the chiller is set by the pump and circulation equipment, and each model has a minimum flow to meet
Other models in the Hailea HC range can be supplied on request
Note that Hailea publish these as a rated tank volume and horsepower — there is no cooling capacity in kW quoted against a stated air and water temperature, so rated volume is the only sizing figure available
To size a unit, match your total system water volume — tank plus sump and pipework, not just the display volume — to the rated volume column, then check your circulation pump delivers at least the minimum flow for that model. If your water sits outdoors, the room runs hot, or you need a set pull-down in a set time, ask Fresh By Design for a heat-load calculation rather than sizing on tank volume alone.
