UltraAqua UV Steriliser Lamps

At 220W and 350W check the pins: current HOXL G3 lamps have diamond pins and suit units with a UV ID starting with 8, while earlier units (UV ID 7 or lower) take a square pin lamp. The 440W lamp has only one version.

They are rated to 16,000 hours, roughly two years of continuous operation — the point at which remaining output can still be relied on, not the point where the lamp stops lighting.

Output declines gradually and without visible sign, so a lamp can light long after its dose is no longer reliable. Where a sensor is fitted, a slow decline that survives a sleeve clean is the signal to change; otherwise run to hours.

No — ULTRATHERM™ drivers keep the amalgam at its operating temperature. A generic ballast will strike the lamp, but rated output, rated life and confidence in reactor dose are lost. Replacement drivers are on the UltraAqua UV Sensors & Lamp Drivers page.

Used lamps contain mercury and must go to a licensed lamp recycler rather than general waste.
