Q: What do I need to order to get a working meter?

Three things at minimum — the meter, one Quatro cable, and at least one sensor; the meter is supplied on its own.

Q: Which cable length should I choose?

1 m for tank-side and bench work, 4 m for deeper tanks, raceways and ponds; conductivity and temperature are built into either cable.

Q: Galvanic or polarographic dissolved oxygen sensor?

Galvanic needs no warm-up and suits a meter used often; polarographic needs a short warm-up but gives longer membrane life for occasional use.

Q: Can I measure ammonia in seawater with this?

No — the ammonium, nitrate and chloride ion-selective electrodes are rated for fresh water only.

Q: How many sensors can I run at once?

Up to four, with each Quatro cable carrying one or two ion-selective electrodes alongside the built-in conductivity and temperature.

Q: What do I calibrate it with?

pH buffers for the pH sensor, Zobell solution for ORP, and a conductivity or salinity standard for the conductivity cell — all listed under consumables on this page.

Q: What are the measuring ranges for each sensor?
