Moticam A Series
The Moticam A‑Series is a range of USB digital microscope cameras designed for live viewing, image capture, and documentation across education, laboratory, research, and inspection environments. All models in the series use sCMOS sensor technology and connect to a computer via USB 2.0, providing a consistent hardware and software platform regardless of resolution.
The A‑Series is structured to allow selection based on required image resolution and live frame rate, while maintaining common operating characteristics. Lower‑resolution models are optimised for smooth live display and real‑time observation, while higher‑resolution models support detailed image capture for documentation, reporting, and analysis.
All cameras feature a C‑Mount interface, allowing compatibility with a wide range of microscope adapters, eyepiece tubes, and trinocular ports. Each model supports live image display, still image capture, and video recording using Motic imaging software, with standard functions including exposure control, white balance adjustment, image measurement, and objective calibration.
The Moticam A2 provides Full HD live imaging and is typically selected for routine observation and teaching where frame rate is prioritised. The A5 offers increased resolution while maintaining full live frame rates, making it suitable for general documentation. The A8 supports 4K live output for higher detail imaging, and the A16 provides the highest resolution in the series for applications requiring maximum image detail.
