Replacement UV sensors and lamp drivers for UltraAqua MR-series and open channel systems. Which UV sensor a system takes depends on the reactor it is fitted to rather than the lamp wattage alone, so the options below are grouped by system type.
Which UV sensor fits your system
MR1 75/220 (AISI316) — stainless steel bodied sensor for MR1 75W and 220W units.
PTFE, single lamp PP systems — PTFE bodied sensor covering 75W through 440W single lamp polypropylene reactors.
PTFE MODBUS-5 500 W/m², multi lamp PP systems — PTFE sensor with MODBUS-5 output for multi lamp polypropylene reactors.
Önorm-certified sensors for closed systems and sensors for open channel plant are supplied on enquiry rather than listed here. On a validated plant the sensor type forms part of the validation and cannot be substituted, so we confirm it against your UV ID before ordering. Send us the serial number from the control cabinet and we will identify the correct unit.
UV sensor cleaning and calibration
Wipe the sensor head, or the head of the sensor housing, at each sleeve clean. Inspect it a month after commissioning to establish the fouling rate for your water and set the interval from there. A fouled sensor under-reads, which drives unnecessary output ramping and nuisance alarms.
Sensors drift with age and are typically replaced every two years. Where the unit is otherwise sound, recalibration against a reference sensor will often extend service life, so it is worth asking about before committing to a replacement.
Lamp drivers
The driver holds the amalgam lamp at its operating temperature and regulates lamp current, so it sets rated output and rated life as much as the lamp does. A generic ballast will strike the lamp but will not hold it there, which leaves reactor dose unverifiable.
Drivers are matched to the lamp configuration, not to a single wattage, which is why the options are listed by configuration — one, two or four lamps. The 4 x 220W MODBUS driver comes in two builds: the standard MR4-220 and a variant for 6 x 220W PP channel plant. Check the label on the driver you are replacing, or send us the UV ID.
Drivers normally outlast several sets of lamps. Where a lamp fails to strike, or output collapses suddenly rather than tailing off, check the driver before assuming the lamp has gone.
